An established and highly regarded law firm is seeking a talented Construction Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated construction-related disputes from inception through trial, working directly with clients and playing a key role in case strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent advocacy skills, and a background in construction or complex civil litigation. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction litigation matters through all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through resolution and trial.
  • Draft and argue pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and dispositive motions.
  • Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.
  • Prepare for and participate in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Analyze construction contracts, specifications, change orders, project records, and related documentation.
  • Evaluate claims, defenses, contractual obligations, and litigation risks.
  • Develop and execute effective litigation strategies tailored to client objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, insurance representatives, opposing counsel, and witnesses.
  • Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation and evidentiary analysis.
  • Independently manage assigned matters while working closely with partners and litigation teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
  • Ability to independently manage litigation matters and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling construction litigation matters.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, project documentation, change orders, delay claims, defect claims, and other construction-related disputes.
  • Experience representing contractors, subcontractors, developers, property owners, insurers, or other stakeholders in construction projects.
  • Background in complex civil litigation, including mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.

  • Base Salary: $165,000 - $225,000 annually
