Job Summary
The Construction Manager leads construction projects to successful completion by managing timelines, budgets, quality, and safety. You will coordinate with stakeholders and oversee site activities to ensure compliance and high standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed project plans with clear goals, objectives, and timelines to guide construction activities
- Establish and manage project budgets to control costs and minimize expenses throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards
- Select, evaluate, and monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure performance meets project requirements
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to align project objectives
- Identify potential risks such as safety hazards, delays, and cost overruns, and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure construction work meets quality standards by identifying defects and overseeing corrective actions
- Develop and manage project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines consistently
- Enforce safety management protocols to maintain safe construction sites and compliance with regulations
- Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports covering progress, costs, and quality metrics
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma, Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Certification as a Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent professional certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing construction projects
- Knowledge of building codes, fire protection accessories codes, regulations, and safety standards
