Job Summary:
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and successfully delivering capital, construction, and deployment MTA projects from origination through completion. This role will work closely with Structure & Design and New York leadership as well as cross-functional leadership to develop comprehensive project plans, manage budgets, oversee vendor performance, and ensure all projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with MTA, regulatory, safety, and company standards. The Construction Manager collaborates with internal departments and external partners to drive operational excellence, maintain quality control, and support strategic infrastructure and revenue-generating initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leads vendor onboarding and external partner integration by identifying, hiring, developing, and managing contractors and third-party vendors; establishes clear performance expectations, ensures compliance with company standards, and fosters a cohesive, high-performance culture through effective coaching, accountability, and relationship management.
- Performs activities necessary for the effective administrative management of the department, including budget administration, proforma development and analysis, and the establishment of targets and standards for productivity, safety, cost control, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, inventory control, and purchasing.
- Develops and manages complex MTA construction projects through comprehensive project planning, risk analysis, documentation, reporting, target setting, and performance management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Oversees all engineering submittals required for MTA project approval, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission; serves as the primary liaison to all contracted vendors regarding assigned projects, scope of work, deliverables, and project coordination.
- Directs and manages construction sites, contractors, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure adherence to quality, safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Maintains accurate records related to materials, equipment, fleet, safety, maintenance, contractors, budgets, and personnel.
- Collaborates with senior market leadership to align resources and execution strategies to ensure successful completion of CCO and MTA projects/installations.
- Conducts site inspections and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOB, MTA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
- Monitors, audits, and reports on project and safety compliance, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Partners cross-functionally with Real Estate, Finance, Operations, S&D, and external agencies to establish priorities, manage project timelines, and drive capital and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Represents the company during agency inquiries, inspections, vendor meetings, and regulatory reviews as appropriate.
- Performs additional duties as assigned in support of project execution and departmental objectives.
Job Qualifications
Education and Certifications
- BSc in Construction Management or related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.
Work Experience
- Ten (10) + years of experience in construction/ project management with emphasis on New York construction.
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects, internal teams, contractors, and third-party vendors.
- Experience in project management, from conception to delivery.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
- An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, engineering drawings, and step-by-step action plans.
- Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including experience building and nurturing a team.
- Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills and able to balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Able to partner successfully with internal and external groups.
- Able to negotiate contracts with vendors that support CCOA and client goals.

The Targeted Compensation Range for this New York position is:
Min: $160,000.00
Max: $180,000.00
Bonus eligible, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

Ultimate compensation will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, scope and responsibility of the position, as well as pursuant to salary market benchmarks. This salary range is a good-faith estimate of the salary for this position.
