Construction Manager (Industrial Building)

Our client is an established A1 main contractor undertaking civil and infrastructure projects in Singapore. Due to its project pipeline, the company is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee site operations and drive the safe, timely and quality delivery of construction works.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations and coordinate construction activities to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Manage site teams, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to ensure effective execution of construction works.
• Plan and monitor construction programmes, work sequencing, manpower and equipment resources to meet project milestones.
• Monitor subcontractor productivity and performance, identify potential delays and implement recovery measures where necessary.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, consultants, clients and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical and site-related issues.
• Ensure construction works comply with project quality requirements, approved method statements, risk assessments and workplace safety regulations.
• Work closely with the QA/QC team to conduct inspections, resolve non-conformances and maintain quality standards.
• Monitor site progress, variations and potential cost impacts, and provide timely updates to the project management team.
• Lead site coordination meetings and drive improvements in construction methods, productivity and work quality.
• Coordinate specialist work contract (SWC) activities and ensure interfaces between different work packages are properly managed.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and construction documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification accepted by the client.
• Relevant experience in construction or site management for civil and infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on LTA projects is preferred or required, depending on project needs.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, site operations, work sequencing and subcontractor management.
• Experience managing site teams, construction programmes, manpower and project deliverables.
• Good understanding of construction quality, workplace safety and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple site activities and meet project deadlines.
• Relevant professional registration or qualifications, where required for the position.

OTHER INFORMATION:

• Location: Depending on project
• Working days: 5.5 Days
• Salary : up to S$8,000 / Negotiable + VB (salary will commensurate according to experience & qualifications).
