Construction Manager (LTA)
Job Description:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate site operations, including developing detailed construction sequences and work plans.
- Manage manpower, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and site resources for efficient project execution.
- Lead and participate in project kick-off meetings, coordination meetings, toolbox meetings, pre-start meetings, and progress review meetings.
- Coordinate closely with Design, BIM, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Review and implement Project Construction Plans, including site utilization, hoisting plans, temporary facilities, and logistics planning.
- Ensure timely procurement, delivery, and proper utilization of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Identify and resolve design discrepancies with consultants before construction activities commence.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements through inspections, testing, and pre-handover reviews.
- Verify that only approved materials and products are used in accordance with project specifications.
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations and company safety policies.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and relevant government agencies on construction matters.
- Manage project documentation, permits, reports, inspections, and progress records.
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, identify project risks, and implement effective mitigation measures.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise site staff to foster teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Project Director.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or other relevant authorities.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 7 years in the supervision and management of large-scale civil and infrastructure construction projects.
- Proven experience in MRT, railway, or major infrastructure projects. Experience with Land Transport Authority (LTA) projects will be a strong advantage.
- Experience in traffic diversion works, utility diversion/protection works, and viaduct construction will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, quality management systems, Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, construction methodologies, and contract documents.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant government authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
- Strong leadership, planning, organizational, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Familiar with Singapore construction practices, LTA specifications and requirements, authority submission procedures, and relevant industry codes and standards.
- Self-motivated, independent, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Willing to work at the project site, including night shifts, weekends, or rotating shifts when operationally required.
- Candidates who are able to commence work immediately or within a short notice period will have an added advantage.
