CONSTRUCTION MANAGER – MECHANICAL (HOSPITAL)

We are looking for a Construction Manager to take ownership of a government hospital project, driving mechanical installation works from planning through completion in a lab and clean room environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver project milestones on schedule, applying a plan-do-check-action (PDCA) approach to quality, safety, and environmental targets
- Draw up the master construction schedule, quality and safety plans, risk assessments, and budget, aligned to contract requirements
- Introduce new or improved installation methods to control cost and boost efficiency
- Manage day-to-day coordination with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating variations and resolving site issues
- Establish clear communication channels across the site team and with the customer
- Mentor site staff, addressing skill gaps through ongoing training and guidance
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Diploma with at least 10 years of relevant industry experience
- At least 15 years' overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or project manager capacity
- 8–10 years specifically in mechanical/electrical installation and project management, on contracts valued between $10–100 million
- Proven track record in lab, clean room, chiller, data centre, or hospital projects (LTA/condo experience not applicable)
- Familiar with ISO 9000/45001/14001 standards and hold a Building Construction Safety Supervisor certification
- Preferred: contractor-side background with strong cross-disciplinary coordination skills
