Construction Project Accountant

Job Overview:
- We are looking for a Construction Project Accountant to support the cost tracking and financial management of construction projects.
- This role will collaborate with accounting, purchasing, billing, and project managers or operations teams to implement accurate job cost tracking and job progress reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Responsibilities:
- Track and maintain job budgets and job cost reports.
- Track and analyze job costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Prepare monthly job cost and variance reports for management.
- Collect job performance information to prepare WIP reports on a monthly and annual basis.
- Monitor materials and subcontractor costs.
- Monitor Purchase Order approval process and enforce adherence to internal policies by operations and purchasing teams.
- Track Change Order activities.
- Identify potential cost overruns and work with project teams to resolve issues.
- Support job or project closeout activities, including final cost reconciliation and record keeping.

Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role, construction, or project-based accounting.
- Strong understanding of the Purchase Order process in construction.
- Strong understanding of job cost accounting and relevant financial reporting.
- Knowledge of InEight is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with project managers.

Hardware Requirements:
- Operating System: Windows-based device only (No Mac or Apple computers).
- Memory: Minimum of 16GB RAM.
- Hardware: Dual-monitor setup (2 screens) is required for efficient workflow.
- Connectivity: Stable, high-speed internet with a dedicated, quiet workspace.
- Candidates must be able to guarantee connectivity regardless of travel.
