Construction Project Engineer
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our project team. In this role, you will be stationed at our site office, supervising daily site activities, coordinating closely with main contractors and sub-contractors, and ensuring engineering works are executed safely, on schedule, and according to contract specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Site & Schedule Management: Liaise and work closely with Main Contractors to coordinate project planning, monitor daily site progress, and ensure engineering works align with the master construction schedule.
- Site Supervision & Quality Control: Supervise on-site works to ensure strict compliance with contract drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and WSH (Workplace Safety & Health) regulations.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily site logs, manpower records, site progress photos, and work status reports.
- Claims & Contract Support: Track, document, and manage variation orders (VOs) and additional work claims submitted to clients.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare regular correspondence and progress reports, identifying site issues and proactively suggesting corrective actions or value-added technical solutions.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Attend regular site meetings, liaise with consultants and Main-contractors, and handle ad-hoc technical site matters as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or a recognized construction-related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of relevant working experience within construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret civil structural drawings and contract specifications.
- Basic familiarity with project scheduling and CAD software (AutoCAD, MS Project) is an advantage.
- Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced site environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work site hours (6-day work week) and support shift work during critical project execution phases.
