We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Construction Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing various phases of development projects from conception to completion, working closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project execution.
Base Compensation: Starting at $80,000 annually plus bonus potential, a company issued vehicle, fuel card and monthly cell phone reimbursement. No travel outside of Hampton Roads required.
- Assist in planning and coordinating construction projects, including site selection, feasibility analysis, design, permitting, and construction.
- Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, applicable laws, regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to develop project plans and timelines.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate with local government agencies and community stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
- Monitor project progress, address challenges, and implement solutions as needed.
- Prepare and present project updates to senior management and stakeholders.

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Longer field experience with no college will be considered.
- 7+ years of work experience in construction, construction management, or real estate development required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good comprehension of civil and architectural plans.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Essential Physical Functions
- Ability to travel to and access active construction sites.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while inspecting project sites.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate scaffolding or uneven terrain when necessary.
- Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, or reach while reviewing work areas or site conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain, during site visits.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility vests, and protective footwear while on construction sites.
- Ability to safely navigate active construction environments that may include noise, dust, moving equipment, and other construction-related hazards.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry materials, documents, or equipment up to 50 pounds.
