Construction Project Manager

Summary

Oversee construction projects from planning to handover, coordinating teams and contractors to deliver on time and within budget while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or related field
  • Minimum 4-5 years of relevant construction/project management experience
  • Proven experience managing construction projects from planning through completion and handover
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Good understanding of project scheduling, cost control, procurement, and contract administration
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers
  • Good knowledge of construction safety, quality standards, and statutory requirements
  • Strong ability to manage project budgets, timelines, resources, and risks
  • Relevant professional, construction, or safety certifications will be an advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadline.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion to deliver on time and within budget
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, and construction programmes to ensure efficient progress
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities to align project goals
  • Supervise daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Monitor project progress and implement recovery plans to address delays and maintain timelines
  • Manage project costs, variations, claims, procurement, and subcontractor payments to control budget and cash flow
  • Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings, and coordination meetings to maintain project alignment and quality
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements to uphold regulatory standards
  • Review drawings, method statements, shop drawings, and technical submissions to validate construction plans
  • Identify and resolve technical, construction, and site - related issues promptly to minimize disruptions
  • Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance to optimize resource utilization
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports to communicate status and risks to stakeholders
  • Manage project risks and implement mitigation measures to safeguard project objectives
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, defect rectification, and final handover to ensure project completion
  • Lead and motivate project teams to achieve time, cost, quality, and safety objectives through effective leadership
