Construction Project Manager II

Wolverine Building Group is seeking a Construction Project Manager II to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Our team specializes in repeatable, multi-site commercial projects for national and regional franchise clients, including convenience stores, gas stations, car washes, restaurants, big-box retail, office spaces, and early childhood education facilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who enjoys managing multiple fast-paced projects, values autonomy, and wants ownership of the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Lead estimating, bidding, scheduling, budgeting, and project execution
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically ranging from $3M-$8M
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Monitor project financial performance, forecasts, change orders, and cost controls
  • Facilitate project meetings and drive accountability across project teams
  • Identify and resolve project challenges proactively to maintain schedule and budget
  • Prequalify and manage subcontractors while expanding trade partner relationships
  • Champion a strong safety culture and exceptional client experience
  • Qualifications:

    Required:
  • 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Strong experience with estimating, bidding, buyout, and project financial management
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with commercial project types such as retail, restaurants, convenience stores, gas stations, car washes, office, education, childcare, or similar commercial construction
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Experience with repeat-client programs, franchise construction, or multi-site projects
  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office
