Construction Project Manager
You will own commercial construction projects from concept through closeout, including office buildouts, renovations, and fit-outs. You will define scope, budgets, and schedules; manage procurement, design, contracts, permits, vendors, site operations, quality, safety, and closeout; coordinate with cross-functional partners; report project status to leadership; and coach other project managers.
Responsibilities
- Own construction projects from concept through closeout
- Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and business cases
- Drive procurement and the full RFP process
- Oversee design processes and stakeholder approvals
- Build and maintain project schedules
- Manage project budgets, change orders, invoices, and cost controls
- Manage contracts, permitting, inspections, and external approvals
- Conduct site visits and monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance
- Manage punch lists, documentation, warranties, and handover
- Report project status to leadership
- Coordinate cross-functional partners and people moves
- Coach other project managers and develop repeatable processes
Requirements
- At least 10 years of construction project management experience
- Experience delivering commercial office interiors or similar fit-out projects
- Track record of delivering large-scale construction projects on schedule
- Experience managing general contractors and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Understanding of leases and design and construction negotiation
- Knowledge of construction means and methods, building systems, permitting, and inspection processes
- Strong project management fundamentals covering scope, schedule, budget, and risk
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
- Willingness to travel to project sites in other US cities
- Willingness to support critical tasks during after-hours or weekend work
- Proficiency with MS Project, Smartsheet, Procore, or similar tools
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lead and work on a team
- Ability to self-manage and complete projects
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to make data-driven recommendations
- Experience delivering projects in occupied or operational spaces with minimal disruption
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or Revit
- Knowledge of MEP systems, sustainability or LEED practices, or low-voltage and data infrastructure coordination
- PMP or comparable construction or project management certification
