We are seeking a highly organized, financially capable, and detail-oriented Project Manager to guide multiple construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

This role requires consistent follow-through, sound financial judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities without becoming disorganized or losing track of details. The Project Manager must also be comfortable communicating difficult information and keeping clients informed, even when the news is not ideal or a complete answer is still being developed.

The Project Manager reports to the Director of Operations and works collaboratively with Project Supervisors, the Project Manager Assistant, estimators, designers, subcontractors, vendors, and support staff.

  • Review estimates, purchase orders, subcontractor proposals, invoices, and change orders for accuracy.
  • Identify financial discrepancies and potential cost overruns promptly.
  • Ensure scope changes are documented, priced, approved, and communicated before work proceeds.
  • Provide clients and internal team members with clear and accurate financial information.
  • Participate in regular project and financial reviews with the Director of Operations.

Project Calendar and Coordination

  • Develop and maintain detailed project calendars in collaboration with the project team.
  • Coordinate project resources, deliverables, procurement, client decisions, and outside professionals.
  • Identify timing risks and potential delays before they become larger problems.
  • Communicate changes to the project calendar promptly and clearly.
  • Coordinate recovery plans when projects fall behind.
  • Ensure responsible parties understand upcoming deadlines and required actions.

Client Communication and Advocacy

  • Provide clients with reliable updates regarding budgets, billing, scope changes, project calendars, decisions, and next steps.
  • Communicate difficult news, delays, and cost concerns clearly and professionally.
  • Respond promptly when a complete answer is not yet available and follow through once the necessary information is obtained.
  • Ensure clients have the information needed to make informed decisions about their projects.
  • Document important client conversations, decisions, and approvals.
  • Maintain trust through transparency, reliability, and consistent follow-through.
  • Advocate for the client while protecting the company's contractual obligations, financial interests, and quality standards.

Procurement and Contract Administration

  • Coordinate procurement activities to support project calendars and budgets.
  • Review bids, proposals, contracts, purchase orders, and other project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Confirm that project scope, costs, responsibilities, and deadlines are clearly documented.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and other outside professionals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and complete contract and procurement records.

Project Quality and Compliance

  • Keep project scope, budget, project calendar, documentation, and quality expectations aligned.
  • Review construction methods, building systems, and material specifications to ensure they meet project requirements and company quality standards.
  • Ensure project participants understand and follow established quality standards.
  • Address missed commitments, quality concerns, and communication breakdowns directly and professionally.
  • Coordinate permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements with the appropriate project team members.
  • Report significant risks and unresolved issues to the Argent Director of Operations.
  • Support an organized project closeout, including final documentation, outstanding items, and client communication.

Client Relationships and Business Development

  • Build and maintain positive client relationships throughout the project.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for additional work or future projects.
  • Support referral opportunities by providing a professional and reliable client experience.
  • Represent the company professionally in interactions with clients, project partners, and the community.
