WOODPATEL is seeking a Construction Project Manager with an Arizona Professional Engineering (P.E.) license. This position will manage a variety of large and small construction projects throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. This is mainly an office role with some time in the field overseeing construction inspectors and interfacing with clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages construction projects, ensuring adherence to contract and subcontract terms, performance, quality assurance, compliance requirements and engineering specifications.
- Prepare and negotiate scopes of work, schedules and fee proposals.
- Examines materials and workmanship to ensure the finished construction product is in accordance with the standards required by the plans and specifications.
- Assists with coordination of all field activities related to project construction management including field observations, reports, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and pay requests.
- Prepares project substantial completion letters, sewer and water release letters, and reports regarding contractor grievances.
- Assists with completing inspections and obtaining certifications.
- Monitor quality assurance and quality control methods testing performed by outside contractors and laboratories.
- Resolves construction conflict problems where possible and recommends any probable or desirable changes requiring a change order.
- Assist Civil Engineers to include project information gathering, cost estimating, preparing statements of work, performing design and construction submittal reviews, site observations, progress meetings, site inspections, and project closeout.
- Arranges for final inspection and establishes a date of acceptance for each project and prepares final certificates for the approval of the client after execution of a punch list. Presents the client with an operating manual and/or “as built” drawing upon final acceptance.
- Experienced in employee supervision, development, and mentoring.
- Participate in the execution of Company strategic initiatives.
