Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced, and highly motivated Construction Rigger to join the team for a project based in Melbourne. As a Rigger, you will play a crucial role in the installation of our cutting-edge racking systems, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Construction Rigger or in a closely related rigging role within construction or industrial environments

· Relevant trade qualification or recognised rigging certification (or equivalent demonstrated work experience)

· Current full driver licence, Construction White Card, and applicable High Risk Work licences (including Rigging – Basic / Intermediate / Advanced as required)

· Working at Heights certification; crane, dogman, scissor lift and forklift licences highly desirable

· Physical capability to safely perform manual handling, rigging tasks, and work at heights

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

· Planning and performing rigging activities to safely lift, move, and position structural steel, racking components, and associated equipment on construction and industrial sites.

· Assembles and installs rigging gear, such as cables, ropes, pulleys and winches, to lift, lower, move and position equipment, structural steel and other heavy objects.

· Erecting lifting tackles by attaching pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures, and installing cables and attaching counterweights

· Attaching slinging gear to hoisting equipment and objects to be moved using clamps, hooks, bolts and knots, in accordance with load requirements and safety standards.

· Coordinating crane lifts and working closely with crane operators, dogmen, and installation teams to ensure controlled and accurate placement of loads.

· Lifting and positioning sections of frames and racking systems

· Setting up winches and rigging equipment to raise and position girders, plates, columns and other steel units

· Interpreting lift plans, engineering drawings, and site instructions to determine safe lifting methods and rigging configurations.

· Carrying out rigging tasks at height, including working from elevated work platforms, scaffolding, or structural steel frameworks.

· Ensuring loads are stabilised, balanced, and secured during lifting and positioning to prevent damage, instability, or safety risks.

· Conducting pre-lift checks and ongoing inspections of rigging equipment, identifying hazards and removing defective gear from service.

· Maintaining strict compliance with Workplace Health & Safety legislation, site-specific safety procedures, and high-risk work requirements.
