Construction Safety Project Manager

Discussion

Summary

Experienced construction project manager delivering short-duration construction projects across Cork and Limerick for an engineering consultancy client, acting as PSCS under the Construction Regulations 2013 — running the programme, coordinating contractor safety and RAMS, carrying out site inspections, and compiling the Safety File through handover.

EHS International is looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager who is equally at home running a programme and carrying the PSCS appointment. You'll join a specialist network of safety and construction professionals, backed by a steady pipeline of client work, so when one project hands over, the next one is already lined up.

You'll be placed with an engineering consultancy client in the Munster region, delivering short-duration construction projects across Cork and Limerick. You'll lead one project at a time, from mobilisation to handover, acting as PSCS under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 and as project manager where required.

  • Build and run the construction programme, sequencing trades and managing mobilisation, lead times and interfaces
  • Track progress, spot slippage early and agree recovery plans that keep work within safe limits
  • Coordinate contractors' safety and health activities, and review and approve RAMS against the programme
  • Carry out site inspections, investigate incidents and near misses, and report to the HSA where required
  • Manage quality through hold-point checks, snagging, non-conformances and commissioning records
  • Compile the Safety File and close-out documentation for handover, and stop work where there is imminent risk

This is a role for someone who can hold the line on safety when the programme is under pressure. At EHS International you'll work alongside peers who understand that balance, with the stability of ongoing work and the backing of an established EHS specialist.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' construction or site management experience, including programming and delivering short-duration projects
  • Experience as PSCS or in a comparable safety coordination role
  • Strong working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2013 and HSA guidance
  • A recognised H&S qualification, such as the NEBOSH Construction Certificate or a Level 6/7 equivalent
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Primavera or a similar programming tool
  • Valid Safe Pass, and CSCS or equivalent
  • Confident, direct communication with clients, contractors and regulators
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites in Cork and Limerick
  • Eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland
  • Desirable: a construction management or engineering degree, pharma/life sciences, data centre or fit-out experience, working knowledge of ISO 9001 and 45001, experience on live client sites, and PMP or equivalent
