Construction Safety Specialist

Compliance Management International (CMI), one of the fastest-growing risk management firms in the U.S., is hiring an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to support ongoing pharmaceutical construction projects in Rahway, NJ.

This is more than a project assignment—it’s a long-term career opportunity with room to grow.

We’re looking for a hands-on safety professional who can build strong field relationships, recognize hazards, influence safe behaviors, and help project teams get the job done safely.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide daily safety leadership for contractors and project teams
  • Conduct field inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
  • Coach employees and trade partners on safe work practices
  • Support PTPs, JSAs, permits, orientations, toolbox talks, and incident investigations
  • Identify hazards and drive corrective actions to completion
  • Monitor high-risk work, including electrical, fall protection, confined space, cranes, LOTO, and hot work
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and client safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience
  • Strong MEP experience highly preferred
  • Pharmaceutical construction experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards
  • Experience managing high-risk construction activities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and hazard-recognition skills
  • Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification completed within the past five years
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
  • OSHA 510, or willingness to obtain it within 30 days of hire—CMI pays for the training
  • Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as project needs require
  • Reliable transportation
  • Preferred: CHST, STS-C, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500, NFPA 70E, or a safety-related degree.
