Description

Construction Sales Representative – Fireplace Sales (B2B)

Territory: San Gabriel Valley, Altadena, and San Fernando Valley

We are looking for a Construction Sales Representative to grow our fireplace business with custom home builders and general contractors across the San Gabriel Valley, Altadena, and San Fernando Valley. This is a B2B outside sales role: you will nurture and grow an existing book of builder accounts while developing new business in the territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, technical knowledge of fireplace or HVAC products, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow existing builder accounts and generate new business through prospecting, networking, door knocking, and jobsite visits.
  • Build strong relationships with custom home builders, construction business owners, and GC superintendents.
  • Visit customers at jobsites and offices to review plans, evaluate fireplace needs, explain product options, and provide accurate quotes.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to close, including follow-up and post-installation customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with installation teams to ensure accurate project details, timelines, and customer expectations.
  • Track sales activity using CRM tools and maintain organized records of leads, proposals, and customer interactions.
  • Stay informed on building codes, product innovations, and competitor offerings in fireplaces and related building products.
  • Represent the company professionally at trade shows and industry events.

Role Requirements:

  • 3+ years of sales experience; fireplace or HVAC sales strongly preferred. Construction or building-materials sales backgrounds also considered.
  • Technical aptitude and a strong understanding of residential construction.
  • Ability to read basic construction plans and understand jobsite terminology.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Comfortable working on jobsites and in active construction environments.

Work Schedule: The first 3 months are in-office for training and onboarding. After that, the role is primarily in the field, with office visits 1–4 times per month.

Salary Rate: $55,000 – $75,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus uncapped commission. Expected first-year earnings of approximately $100,000 after a 3–6 month ramp-up.

Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs, and to move safely around active jobsites. Light lifting up to 25–35 lbs may be needed. The position also involves driving between jobsites and customer offices, using standard office and field equipment, and working in varying environmental conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to support individuals with disabilities.

Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Supplemental Insurance (short- and long-term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, critical illness, supplemental life insurance)
  • Company paid life insurance
  • 401(k) (pre-tax and post-tax) and Roth 401(k) with company matching
  • Longevity Stock Program
  • IBP Foundation
  • Scholarship opportunities
  • Employee Financial Assistance Program
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Opportunities for growth and advancement
