CONSTRUCTION SITE MANAGER
Site Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and oversee daily site operations to ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise site activities, subcontractors, suppliers, and workers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure works are completed according to the approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedule.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, and other relevant parties to resolve site and technical issues.
- Ensure all site works comply with applicable safety regulations, quality standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship and quality of completed works.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and site resources to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Attend site meetings, coordination meetings, and progress meetings as required.
- Monitor subcontractors' performance and ensure works are completed according to schedule and required standards.
- Maintain proper site documentation, including daily site reports, progress records, inspection records, and other relevant documents.
- Identify potential delays, construction issues, and site risks, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and agencies for site-related matters as required.
- Ensure good housekeeping, proper site organization, and compliance with workplace safety requirements.
- Support testing, inspection, handover, and defect rectification activities.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned in support of project requirements.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction site management.
- Prior experience in building and/or civil construction projects will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of construction methods, site operations, drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Strong coordination, planning, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage subcontractors, site workers, and multiple site activities effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and relevant authorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with relevant construction/project management software.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced site environment and meet project deadlines.
