Construction Workforce Navigator

Open 23d

Position Summary

Inspiritus’ Refugee & Immigrant Services (RIS) Department works to build welcoming communities for refugees and immigrants and accompanies newcomers on a path from surviving to thriving. The Construction Workforce Navigator, under the supervision of the Economic Empowerment Coordinator, will serve a vital role in connecting newcomer and immigrant job seekers to construction pre-apprenticeship training, industry-recognized credentials, and employment pathways. This position addresses critical barriers to economic mobility by supporting participants through every stage of the Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program — from recruitment and intake through job placement — while cultivating employer and apprenticeship partnerships that expand opportunities for program graduates.

Hours & Service Site

This position serves during regular Inspiritus hours of operation Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional evening and weekend service. The Inspiritus office is located at 3919 Church Street, Clarkston, GA 30021. This position will include a hybrid of service sites, including the Inspiritus office and field-based service locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Intake:
    • Recruit prospective participants for the Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program
    • Conduct intake screening to assess eligibility and readiness
  • Case Management & Curriculum Support:
    • Provide ongoing case management for enrolled participants throughout and after the 10–12-week program
    • Track participant progress and address barriers to completion
    • Connect participants with wrap-around support services as needed
    • Assist with delivery of the construction pre-apprenticeship curriculum, including OSHA-10, NCCER Core, and Construction Site Safety Orientation (CSSO) training components, under the direction of Certified Instructors
  • Employer & Partnership Relations:
    • Build and maintain relationships with local employers, construction companies, unions, and registered apprenticeship programs to create pathways for program graduates
  • Program & Coordination:
    • Update and track goal outputs/outcomes with accuracy and timeliness
    • Coordinate program activities within the department and across other departments
    • Attend placement site, community, and other required meetings
    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet program needs

In performing these activities, the member will achieve the following goals:

  • Enroll 15 participants in the Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program, with all 15 earning at least one industry-recognized credential (OSHA-10, NCCER Core, or CSSO) and 8 securing employment or placement in a registered apprenticeship upon completion.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with a minimum of 10 local employers or registered apprenticeship programs to create employment and apprenticeship placement pathways for program graduates.
