Consultancy Manager

Discussion

We're looking for a Safety Consultancy Manager to lead our consultancy department from Cork HQ: the senior technical voice for our consultants, and the person who grows the business they work on.

This role suits someone whose career has taken them across many industries, project types and risk profiles. You'll advise at senior level on client projects, carry your own billable work, and set the direction for the department, with operational support handling day-to-day project management.

  • Lead, support and develop the consultancy team
  • Step in as the expert when consultants face complex, unfamiliar or high-risk problems on site.
  • Deliver billable consultancy work yourself, and review high-risk advice before it reaches the client.
  • Win new business through your own network and by spotting new needs within existing clients.
  • Keep contracts, timesheets and the department's commercial position in good order.
  • Shape new consultancy products and services as the department grows.

You'll work alongside specialist colleagues in training, fire safety, occupational hygiene and process safety, so the answer to an unfamiliar problem is usually one call away. And because EHS International delivers training and consultancy under one roof, the client relationships you build have room to grow.

Requirements

Requirements

  • A relevant third-level qualification in Safety, Health & Environment, or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years' experience in safety, or less where combined with experience in a complementary discipline.
  • Broad experience across multiple sectors and project types, advising on complex safety matters in consultancy or a senior in-house role.
  • Experience managing people and managing projects.
  • A commercial track record: winning work, developing client relationships or growing a service.
  • Current knowledge of Irish EHS legislation and regulatory change.
  • Confident with Microsoft technologies, safety management systems and business management systems.
  • Chartered status (CMIOSH), or working towards it, is an advantage.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to the Dublin office and client sites.
