Consultant – Incentive Compensation & Commercial Operations (IC)

Purpose of Job
We're seeking a Consultant with 4–6 years of experience who has owned the incentive compensation lifecycle end-to-end - IC plan design, goal setting, sales crediting, and IC implementation/administration - for pharma or life sciences clients. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong QA/QC discipline, working knowledge of pharma data, and the confidence to drive client discussions directly.
We’ll trust you to:
Primary Responsibility: IC Design, Validation & Administration
- Design incentive compensation plans aligned to brand and commercial goals, including plan mechanics, payout curves, and measure selection
- Lead goal-setting processes - quota/target setting methodologies, allocation, and calibration across territories and roles
- Own sales crediting logic: rules design, hierarchy alignment, exception handling, and validation
- Translate business requirements into clear, testable business logic for platform development teams to build against
- Validate and test IC platform builds against business logic - catch discrepancies before they reach production
- Apply strong QA/QC practices to catch issues both upstream (inputs, data feeds, crediting rules) and downstream (calculations, payouts, reporting) before they surface to the field
- Run IC implementation and ongoing administration - cycle management, calculation QC, dispute resolution, and reporting to field and leadership
- Analyze IC plan effectiveness and recommend design changes to improve field performance.
- Independently execute projects with global teams - translate solution briefs into tasks, manage stakeholder communication
- Drive client discussions confidently - present findings, defend design recommendations, and navigate ambiguous or pushback scenarios directly with clients
- Flag risks, manage timelines, and ensure quality and thoroughness in IC operations and reporting
- Mentor junior team members on IC methodology, QA/QC practices, and analytical approaches
Project and Client Leadership
You’ll need to have:
- Graduate/Master's degree with a strong academic record
- 4+ years of hands-on IC experience - plan design, goal setting, sales crediting, and administration - in pharma/life sciences
- 2+ years working across sales force sizing, structure, or deployment
- Working knowledge of pharma commercial data - Rx/claims data (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony), specialty/patient data, and how these feed IC crediting, goal setting, and reporting
- Demonstrated experience with QA/QC methodologies - able to systematically catch and trace errors across a data/calculation pipeline
- Strong expertise in analytics/visualization tools (Python, R, Alteryx, SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, Spotfire)
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable driving conversations with US clients, including difficult or ambiguous ones
- Experience coaching/mentoring junior team members
- Ability to work in an international matrix environment
- Python/PySpark or other coding skills for automating IC calculations, crediting logic, or large-scale data processing
- PowerBI dashboard development experience
- Exposure to customer engagement, omni-channel, or patient services analytics
- Familiarity with master data / HCP–HCO hierarchy tools (Reltio, Alteryx, Veeva Network)
