Foresight/Emerging Tech Analyst
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct horizon scanning and landscape analysis on emerging technologies relevant to the audit domain, particularly in AI/ML.
• Evaluate technological maturity, business relevance, and adoption readiness for innovations such as AI/ML, quantum, blockchain, immersive technologies, etc.
• Support scenario planning, foresight workshops, and strategic roadmapping with stakeholders across technology, product, and innovation teams.
• Develop and maintain technology watchlists and foresight dashboards that highlight disruptive risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with researchers, vendors, and external consortia to validate trends and explore strategic partnerships.
• Translate technical findings into accessible insights and briefings for senior leadership and strategic planning.
• Contribute to incubation activities by helping define use cases, value hypotheses, and feasibility assessments.
Other responsibilities will typically include supervising teams; coaching and development in technical, risk & compliance management, operational and quality management; project management including budgeting and planning; delivery of quality reports; and some performance management responsibilities.
Experience & Knowledge Requirements required
Experience in technology research, foresight, or strategic innovation roles, ideally within professional services or regulated industries.
• Strong analytical and horizon-scanning skills with a demonstrated ability to connect emerging technology to real-world implications.
• Understanding of one or more frontier technologies such as AI/ML, blockchain, quantum computing, edge/IoT, or immersive technologies.
• Excellent communication and synthesis skills, including experience producing insights for senior or non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with scenario planning, technology readiness assessments, and innovation pipeline processes.
• Strong (native fluency) of English is required.
A professional accountancy qualification from a recognised accountancy body is desirable but is not essential.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology, Innovation, Business, Technical Journalism, Emerging Technology Research, or a related discipline.
