Summary

Leads a neonatal intensive care unit, managing critically ill newborns and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver advanced neonatal care.

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Neonatologist with an Australian Board qualification to provide advanced medical care for premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns. The successful candidate will lead neonatal intensive care services, manage complex neonatal conditions, and work collaboratively with obstetricians, paediatricians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of neonatal care.

Requirements

Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognised medical institution

Recognised specialist qualification in Neonatology, including:

  • Australian Board Qualification (FRACP – Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine) or equivalent recognised qualification

Minimum 5 years of post-specialisation clinical experience preferred

Expertise in:

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) management
  • Care of premature and critically ill newborns
  • Neonatal resuscitation and stabilisation
  • Mechanical ventilation and respiratory support
  • Management of neonatal infections and congenital disorders
  • Nutritional support and developmental follow-up
  • Family counselling and multidisciplinary neonatal care

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
