Key responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage a broad spectrum of infectious diseases in diverse patient populations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor hospital-wide infection prevention and control policies and protocols.
- Lead surveillance activities to detect and respond to healthcare-associated infections and outbreaks.
- Provide expert consultation and education to clinical teams on antimicrobial stewardship and infection control practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient safety and reduce infection risks.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging infectious diseases and advances in infection control methodologies through continuous education.
Requirements
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with specialization in infectious diseases or internal medicine with infection control expertise.
- Board certification or equivalent qualification in infectious diseases and/or infection control.
- Valid medical license to practice in Abu Dhabi/UAE.
- Demonstrated experience in managing infectious diseases and leading infection control programs in hospital settings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective policies and protocols.
