Container Processing Technician

Summary

Processes sample containers at a gold mine, maintaining storage facilities and following safety procedures in a 5-on-2-off, 4-on-3-off shift pattern.

Our Macraes exploration team are on the hunt for a Container Processing Technician. The main task of this position will be to remove sand from sample containers. Working a 5 day on, 2 day off, 4 day on, 3 day off, 7:00am – 4:30pm roster, this is an opportunity to join New Zealand's largest gold mine.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work independently to process sample containers
  • Maintain the Macraes core shed storage facilities, stores and equipment in good order
  • Carry out all sample storage and retrieval activities
  • Comply with all safety requirements and observes all company policies and procedures
  • Carry out all other duties that may reasonably be required
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for equipment or tasks and be involved in the development and review of procedures when required
  • Full and current drivers licence required, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
  • Ability to work unsupervised completing repetitive tasks
  • Basic level of computer competency
  • Forklift licence is beneficial
  • Current NZ Work Visa is required for this role
  • Residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ
  • 5 day on, 2 day off, 4 day on, 3 day off, 7:00am – 4:30pm roster based at Macraes mine
