Position Summary:

The Content & Knowledge Intelligence Manager leads the team responsible for CG's enterprise content platforms: document repositories, correspondence, and print/mail output. The role drives their evolution from traditional content management toward AI-enabled automation, intelligent document processing, and knowledge intelligence.

This is a hands-on leadership role: the manager owns platform delivery and team performance today while setting the trajectory toward AI-enabled knowledge capabilities over time.

The role operates in a hybrid model with an expectation of three days per week on-site in Austin, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, platform engineers, integration specialists, knowledge engineers, and administrators.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
  • Hire, onboard, develop, and retain technical talent.
  • Manage team capacity, priorities, and performance, including addressing underperformance when necessary.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.

Technology & Delivery Leadership

  • Own delivery outcomes for content management, correspondence, and AI-enabled solutions, aligning team priorities and roadmap investments with business objectives.
  • Own the health, security configuration, and lifecycle of the document repository and content platforms - availability, performance, and production support.
  • Own the integration and event-driven architecture that connects content platforms to downstream processing, where document events trigger AI pipelines (stored ? classify ? extract ? validate ? route).
  • Enable AI-assisted content generation, allowing model-generated content to flow into compliant templates within established guardrails.
  • Evaluate architecture options, integration patterns, and build-vs-buy decisions; manage vendor relationships, technology investments, and budgets.
  • Communicate delivery progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.

Correspondence & Print/Mail Output

Own the correspondence and print/mail output platforms end to end, including external print-vendor integration and internal print & mail services. Ensure output meets insurance regulatory and production requirements. Be conversant enough to operate hands-on when the team needs it, e.g., diagnosing a manifest/control-file discrepancy, tuning suppression and NCOA rules, or resolving a print-vendor reconciliation issue.

Knowledge Intelligence & AI

Lead the evolution of the content function toward AI-enabled knowledge intelligence, a strategic priority the role is expected to advance over time. Direct and govern the development of knowledge agents, domain models, knowledge graphs, and retrieval frameworks. Establish the evaluation frameworks and success metrics that keep AI-enabled solutions measurable and governed.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure solutions operate within applicable regulatory, security, and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, SOC 2, and insurance regulatory frameworks.
  • Maintain appropriate governance, auditability, security controls, and risk management practices across content and AI platforms.
  • Partner with enterprise AI governance (including the AI Steering Committee) so AI-enabled work is governed and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Balance delivery speed with regulatory and operational requirements.

Experience & Skills Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of technology experience, including hands-on technical work, not oversight alone; the role is expected to pitch in with the team as needed.
  • 5+ years of people-management experience, with demonstrated success hiring, coaching, developing, and managing technical talent.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and driving organizational change.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex technology initiatives from strategy through delivery, including the ability to evaluate architecture, integration, platform, and build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Experience delivering technology solutions within a regulated industry such as insurance, healthcare, or financial services.
  • Working knowledge of compliance and governance frameworks including HIPAA, SOC 2, or comparable regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with enterprise content and correspondence platforms (e.g., OnBase, SmartCOMM/SmartIQ or comparable), AWS, and modern AI development tooling (e.g., Claude Code / Amazon Bedrock, RAG, agent frameworks).
  • Experience directing or delivering AI-enabled solutions, including the judgment to evaluate AI-generated approaches and govern their adoption in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to communicate and defend technical decisions with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage expectations, and deliver measurable business results.
  • Experience operating with accountability for delivery performance, not solely project execution.
  • Ability to balance innovation, compliance, delivery speed, and operational excellence.
