This role is Bangkok Based. (Relocation Provided)

We are looking for a Korean Linguist and Localization Expert to join our team and help improve localization of multiple Agoda products. Join our international team in a beautiful central Bangkok location and work in a fun and fast-paced environment!

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the quality of translated content across all customer-facing channels such as site updates, hotel content, press releases, travel articles, promotional emails and newsletters
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and vendors to meet deadlines and quality expectations
  • Maintain localization assets such as style guides, glossaries, and translation memories
  • Support urgent translation requests as needed
  • Conduct product reviews for inconsistencies and localization issues
  • Lead arbitration reviews when required and escalate recurring issues to managers to maintain an LQA score above 90%
  • Evaluate, onboard, and manage translation vendors and freelancers, including the invoicing process
  • Improve AI prompt engineering to generate better translation output for the Korean markets
  • Support research and content experimentation to improve content performance and user engagement.
  • Participate in training initiatives related to specific ownership areas led by other Language Experts
  • Provide cultural and linguistic guidance for the Korean markets
  • Promote localization best practices by participating in translation quality audits and benchmarking activities.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Native-level fluency in Korean, with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and a strong command of grammar, tone, and style.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Translation, Korean Language, Literature, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in translation and localization, ideally in a professional setting, with hands-on experience using CAT tools such as MemoQ, or similar platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in English, with the ability to accurately understand source content and adapt it naturally for Korean-speaking audiences.
  • Excellent internet research skills, with the ability to verify terminology, cultural nuances, and market-specific language usage.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in the travel, hospitality, or e-commerce industry is an advantage, particularly with customer-facing or marketing content.
