Content Marketing Specialist (12-month contract)

About the Role/Specialty

This is a opportunity to help build Canva's marketing presence for Indian users across touchpoints. You'll plan & create content that shows up where Indian users actually are: on Canva's homepage, in the product itself, on their social feeds, and on YouTube where hundreds of millions of Indians search for how-tos, tools, and inspiration every day.

You'll work closely with the India Marketing team, with clear direction and room to develop your craft. This isn't a single-channel role - you'll stretch across planning content, writing scripts, writing product interface copy, producing content, coordinating with agencies to make production-heavy content, and CMS management. You will get a real view of what full-funnel content marketing looks like in one of the world's most exciting digital markets.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

  • Plan content across touchpoints - from a social ad to a YouTube tutorial to a product surface - so every piece of content is shaped for the context in which it lands.

  • Script & produce a bank of short-form video content for multiple touchpoints - so the Marketing team always has fresh, tested content to work with.

  • Brief and coordinate with external agencies or internal creative teams to make production-heavy content, specially video content.

  • Experiment with new content formats for Canva's product surfaces - including the homepage, landing pages and other surfaces, such as highlights, videos, learning cards, etc.

  • Manage end-to-end content execution - content scheduling, CMS uploads, A/B tests across platforms and surfaces.

  • Coordinate localisation across languages where needed - a working understanding of Hindi is required, as most India localisation will be in this language.

  • Measure the impact of the content, and calibrate future plans according to new insights and learnings.

What we're looking for

  • You write clearly and versatilely across formats - from punchy Shorts scripts to instructional video copy to product interface language.

  • You're an avid Canva user who knows the product's workflows and use cases inside out - you can speak credibly about what Canva can do, and that knowledge shows up naturally in the content you create.

  • You think in channels and touchpoints - you instinctively ask "where will someone see this, and what do they need from it at that moment?" before you write or brief a single word.

  • You are comfortable facing the camera, and have a good screen presence to represent a brand like Canva in India.

  • You have a sharp eye for social and design trends - you're the kind of person who spots an emerging content format or visual style early, and can translate that into new ideas.

  • You take genuine ownership of your output - you flag blockers early, manage your own time across multiple content surfaces, and care about whether your work actually lands with users.

  • You're comfortable working to a brief and taking feedback in your stride - you see revision as part of the craft, not a setback.

  • You have a good understanding of Hindi and are comfortable reviewing or briefing localised content to ensure it reads naturally for Indian users - not just translated, but truly local.

  • You're based in Bangalore and ready to contribute across a range of content types from day one.

What you will learn and how you will develop at Canva

  • Multi-surface content marketing - you'll develop real experience writing & producing social content, product content, and YouTube in a single role, giving you a rounded view of how content works across the funnel.

  • Stakeholder and project management - you'll learn how to brief external agencies, manage feedback loops, and keep multiple content workstreams moving at once, building production and stakeholder coordination skills that are invaluable in any marketing role.

  • YouTube & social content strategy - you'll learn how to build a content funnel designed around search behaviour, create for discoverability, and grow an audience in one of the world's most competitive YouTube markets.

  • A strong, full-funnel content portfolio - over 12 months, you'll have published work across social media, product interfaces, homepage, and other touchpoints.
