Job Vision
Trust is the funding and development arm of the larger family of brands. Trust exists to provide filmmakers with capital and resources to bring their visions to life. Through direct film funding to commissioning work that generates revenue to buyouts of previous work to secure capital for a future project, Trust works with filmmakers in many ways to allow them to create on their own terms. Trust then takes that footage and licenses it to generate its own revenue which allows us to fund more projects. This role includes management of the contract editors who shape and curate footage, sourcing and buying pre-made assets, and maintaining the administrative work that this work requires. You'll report and collaborate closely with the Director of Trust to learn and grow the business but primarily invest your time and effort in editor direction, curation, and buyout pipeline.
What You’ll Do
Editor management and footage curation
Manage a roster of contract editors, including finding new editors, assigning work, setting curation standards, reviewing output, and giving clear feedback
Own curation quality across footage: what makes the cut, how it's organized, and how it's prepped for the library
Keep editors unblocked and on schedule, balancing efficiency with quality
Maintain and refine curation guidelines as the catalog and Trust's needs evolve
Asset buyouts
Source pre-made assets that fit Trust's library strategy and gaps
Evaluate assets for quality, rights, fit, and ROI before purchase
Negotiate and execute buyouts, tracking spend against budget
Maintain clean records of what was bought, from whom, and under what terms
Help analyze and evaluate buyout process to ensure that each opportunity is fair and valuable
Administrative
Own the paperwork and tracking tied to editor contracts and asset purchases (agreements, invoices, payment coordination, rights documentation, talent and property releases)
Own the management of footage as it moves through the pipeline (footage review, tagging, featuring stand out footage, and operating within Trust’s footage management platform)
Keep acquisition and curation data accurate and current in our systems
Report on pipeline status, spend, and throughput to Director of Trust
Coordinate across Trust and the wider FM org as needed
What We’re Looking For
Experience managing contractors or freelancers, ideally editors or creative talent
A strong eye for footage quality and a sense for what makes a library valuable - understanding what’s trending in advertising
Comfort with buyout/licensing negotiating and the rights questions that come with them
Organized and detail-driven
Self-directed and able to own a workflow end-to-end
Clear, direct communicator
Nice To Have
Background in commercial producing, post-production, or media licensing
Familiarity with digital asset managers and project management platforms like ClickUp
Experience tracking budgets or spend
Experience negotiating deals for projects
