Content Strategist & Writer
Summary
You craft and test content-driven experiences for NOCD’s app and website, turning complex OCD topics into clear, empathetic copy that guides users to treatment while driving measurable engagement and conversion.
About The Role
We’re looking for a growth-minded content strategist and exceptional writer who combines content strategy, experimentation, and product thinking with hands-on content creation.
You’ll help thousands of people who visit the NOCD website or download the NOCD app learn about OCD, feel less alone, and ultimately start specialized treatment sooner. You’ll write, design, and optimize content-driven user flows, educational articles, and marketing materials, improve key funnel flows, and experiment with AI-first approaches to personalization.
We’re looking for someone who is both creative and quantitative—a strong writer and storyteller who is equally excited about testing hypotheses, analyzing results, and using those insights to make content more effective.
What You'll Do
- Design and test content-driven product experiences across onboarding, booking, education, and other key Member journeys to improve engagement and conversion.
- Identify and address friction in critical app flows using content, experimentation, Member insights, and product thinking.
- Write and optimize high-quality content across formats, including in-app messaging, lifecycle campaigns, landing pages, educational content, product copy, and growth campaigns.
- Translate complex healthcare and OCD-related topics into clear, empathetic, and motivating content that helps Members understand their experiences and take action.
- Build and test AI-first content workflows that enable more personalized, adaptive, and scalable Member experiences.
- Use qualitative insights and performance data to develop and test messaging, understand what resonates, and continually improve content effectiveness.
- Partner across Lifecycle, Web, Product, Engineering, Design, Intake Ops, and subject-matter experts to launch experiences and apply learnings across the Member journey.
- Maintain a high bar for brand voice, editorial quality, and clinical accuracy while managing multiple projects and experiments in a fast-paced environment.
Ideal Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in content strategy, growth marketing, product marketing, content-driven growth, copywriting, or a related role.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging, action-oriented content across formats.
- Strong content strategy and messaging instincts, including experience developing and testing content that drives measurable action.
- Experience with—or strong interest in—product growth, funnel analysis, conversion rate optimization, and experimentation.
- Comfortable using quantitative data and qualitative insights to develop hypotheses and guide decisions.
- Ability to translate complex scientific, technical, or healthcare information into accessible and compelling content.
- Comfortable collaborating across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and subject-matter experts.
- Excited to leverage AI for content development, experimentation, and personalization.
- Highly agile and comfortable moving between strategy, hands-on writing, experimentation, and execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about mental health and NOCD’s mission, with an appreciation for the lived experiences of people impacted by OCD.
- Based in the Chicago, IL area and able to work 2 days/week in NOCD’s downtown office.
