Contract Buyer / Procurement Specialist (East | Manufacturing |$6000) #HJO

Job Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, including sourcing, quotation evaluation, purchase requisitions and purchase order processing.

• Procure direct materials and regulated indirect materials from local and overseas suppliers to support manufacturing operations.

• Monitor open, ageing and overdue purchase orders to ensure timely material availability and delivery.

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate commercial terms and drive cost-saving opportunities.

• Manage supplier performance and resolve supply, delivery and quality-related issues.

• Support sourcing, localisation and business continuity initiatives to minimise supply risks.

• Analyse purchasing data, supplier performance and inventory trends to identify improvement opportunities.

• Utilise MRP, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), supplier collaboration and demand planning tools to optimise material replenishment.

• Monitor inventory levels and balance material availability, service levels, working capital and procurement costs.

• Identify and address material shortages, excess inventory and slow-moving stock.

• Ensure procurement activities comply with internal controls, quality standards, SOX and regulatory requirements.

• Support material transfers, regional procurement activities and continuous process improvements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business or related discipline.

• Proven experience in supplier management, vendor negotiations and building strong supplier partnerships.

• Experience managing purchase orders, material replenishment, delivery schedules and supplier performance.

• Good understanding of MRP, inventory management, demand planning and supply assurance.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret purchasing data, inventory trends and supplier performance.

• Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards, internal controls and regulatory requirements will be advantageous.
