Contract Enterprise Architect - Payments
Summary
This contract role involves defining the strategic architecture roadmap and blueprints for a major payments platform transformation. The Enterprise Architect will work at an executive level to align business and technology capabilities without performing detailed solution design.
Salary: $150 – $160 per hour
Collada is looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our associate network for a contract engagement within the payments sector.
This isn't a role focused on detailed solution design. The proof of concept has been completed, the investment has been approved, and the programme is now moving into delivery. What they need is someone who can step back, look at the bigger picture, and define the roadmap and architecture blueprint that will guide the transformation over the coming years.
Why now
The organisation is embarking on a major transformation of its payments platform and needs someone who can help shape what the future looks like before further delivery activity ramps up.
They've got a clear view of the outcomes they need and an experienced Head of Architecture driving the programme. The focus now is creating the strategic artefacts that support decision making, funding conversations and future delivery planning.
What you'd actually do
You'll work closely with the Head of Architecture and key business stakeholders to:
Understand and document the current state
Define the future-state architecture
Create architecture blueprints and strategic roadmaps
Assess the impact across business capabilities, processes, applications, data and technology
Work through how new capabilities fit into the broader ecosystem
Help build the story that supports future investment and delivery decisions
Provide an end-to-end enterprise view of the programme rather than focusing on individual solutions
What it isn't
This isn't a Solution Architect role.
You won't be producing detailed designs, selecting APIs or managing delivery teams. There are architects in place for that. This role is about taking a broader enterprise view, joining the dots, and helping define how the organisation gets from where it is today to where it wants to be.
What we're looking for
Enterprise Architecture experience within complex environments
Someone comfortable operating at programme and executive level
Experience developing architecture roadmaps, target states and strategic blueprints
Strong stakeholder engagement across both technology and business teams
Payments experience is highly desirable
Able to quickly understand a domain and bring structure to ambiguity
Available for a short-term contract assignment
