Contract Logistics Operational Contract Manager

It's more than a job

The Contract Logistics Operational Contract Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end warehouse operations for a key global FMCG customer ensuring strong operational performance, customer satisfaction, and financial control.
This role owns the contract at site level and ensures that operational execution aligns with customer expectations, KPIs, and commercial objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Drive performance against KPIs across cost, productivity, service, and profitability.
  • Ensure team performance aligns with customer, site, and people KPIs.
  • Own customer onboarding, retention, and ongoing operational excellence at contract level.
  • Drive continuous improvement and productivity initiatives across warehouse operations.
  • Prepare and present regular customer operational and performance updates.
  • Contribute to tender and proposal inputs to support business growth.
  • Prepare P&L reporting with commentary on financial and service performance.
  • Lead, train, and develop teams, ensuring succession planning and capability development.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners including carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in an account manager role within Contract Logistics.
  • Experience managing FCMG or similar customer-facing contracts or operational accounts within a 3PL environment.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse KPIs, productivity, and service delivery.
  • Commercial awareness with exposure to budgeting or P&L ownership.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in process-driven, high-volume, customer-focused environments.
  • Exposure to large enterprise or technology customers is highly desirable.
