Contract Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the administration of contracts from pre-award to project completion.
- Review tender documents, contracts, specifications, and commercial terms to identify contractual risks and obligations.
- Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, and purchase agreements.
- Provide contractual advice and support to project managers and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor compliance with contract terms, project milestones, and contractual deliverables.
- Manage variation orders, extension of time (EOT) claims, loss and expense claims, and dispute resolution.
- Prepare contractual correspondence, notices, claims, and responses in accordance with contract requirements.
- Lead negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on contractual matters.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
- Collaborate with the Quantity Surveying team on cost control, payment applications, and final account settlement.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of contractual communications and project correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Support project close-out activities, including final account negotiations and contract completion.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in contract administration or commercial management within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including PSSCOC, FIDIC, SIA, NEC, or other standard forms of contract.
- Experience in managing large-scale building, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
- Sound understanding of contract law, procurement processes, claims management, and dispute resolution.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Familiarity with contract management software is an advantage.
- Meticulous, commercially aware, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
