Contract - Mulesoft Integration Engineer
We have been a remote-first organization since our inception and are passionate about work-life balance, building impactful teams, and committed to creating environments that encourage collaboration, different points of view, and creative solutioning.
We are seeking a mid-level Mulesoft Engineer to join one of our client teams on a contract basis through April 2027 with the potential of extension.
This contract is for 35 hours per week. Rate $85 - $93/hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive automated testing strategy for MuleSoft integrations.
- Build and maintain automated integration, API, regression, and end-to-end test suites.
- Identify gaps in existing test coverage and improve overall integration quality.
- Troubleshoot integration defects and perform root-cause analysis across Salesforce, MuleSoft, and downstream systems — using findings to close systemic gaps in test coverage, not just fix one-off bugs.
- Partner with Salesforce developers, MuleSoft developers, QA engineers, and product teams to ensure reliable deployments.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines to incorporate automated integration testing.
- Establish testing standards, best practices, and quality metrics (e.g., test coverage %, integration defect rate, MTTR) for enterprise integrations.
- Document testing patterns and coverage so the broader team can maintain and extend the suite going forward, rather than the knowledge sitting with one person
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience developing MuleSoft integrations.
- Experience managing test data and environments for integration testing, including Salesforce sandbox environments and simulating external dependencies that are unavailable or unsafe to call in test
- Experience building automated API and integration tests (e.g., MUnit, Postman/Newman, REST Assured, Karate, or similar frameworks).
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, authentication (OAuth), and error handling.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Ability to analyze complex cross-system issues and improve overall platform reliability.
