Contract Testor (Digital Systems) @ Somerset
Job Overview:
The company is looking for a Contract Tester to support the redevelopment of the company's analytics system. The role will augment the existing team by taking on UAT responsibilities across the full data pipeline — from data ingestion and validation through to transformation and dashboard visualisation — allowing data custodians and product managers to focus on their core responsibilities.
Job Scope:
- Work closely with data custodians and product managers to understand business and data requirements,and translate these into test scenarios and test cases.
- Plan and execute UAT across the end-to-end data pipeline, covering data ingestion, validation,transformation, and front-end dashboard outputs.
- Review test cases provided by the vendor, identify gaps, and develop additional test cases where necessary.
- Log, track, andfollow up with the vendor on defects and issues identified during testing, ensuring timely resolution.
- Validate data accuracy and integrity throughout the pipeline, including identifying and flagging duplicate, missing, or inaccurate data.
- Participate indata cleansing activities where required, working with the vendor to correct data issues.
- Ensure vendor documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date, and follow up where gaps are identified.
Requirements:
- A diploma ordegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Analytics,or a related field.
- At least 2 yearsof experience in UAT or software testing, preferably in a data or analyticsenvironment.
- Good data literacy, including the ability to understand data structures, interpret datain tables, and identify data quality issues such as duplicates, missing values,and anomalies.
- Familiarity with data pipeline concepts such as data ingestion, validation, transformation, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying databases to validate data at the pipeline levelwould be strongly advantageous.
- Experience withdashboard or BI tools such as AWS Quick would be an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Working Hours: Mondays to Thursdays: 9am to 6.30pm, Fridays: 9am to 5.30pm
Contract Period: 6 months (Estimated: 1/10/2026 to 31/3/2027)
Salary: $3200 - $4300/month (depending on qualifications and experience)
