Contracts Manager

Discussion

At Derivco, we build the technology behind world-class online gaming experiences, in one of the most tightly regulated industries there is. We operate on a global scale, across multiple jurisdictions, and every supplier relationship, partnership and statement of work we sign needs to protect our position, meet regulatory and licensing standards, and keep the business moving.

We’re looking for a legally qualified Contracts Manager to join our Governance, Risk & Compliance team. This is a hands-on role that combines legal judgement with a significant volume of detailed contract administration. Accuracy, organisation and follow-through matter as much as legal knowledge.

What you’ll do

  • Manage agreements across the lifecycle – review and manage commercial agreements from request to signature, referring matters to our external legal counsel where needed, so terms meet legal, regulatory and organisational standards and reflect our commercial position.
  • Be the first point of contact – answer contractual queries from the business and escalate complex or high-risk matters to the Senior Contracts Manager with a clear brief.
  • Spot risk early – assess key terms, conditions and obligations so the business can make informed approval and remediation decisions before signature.
  • Work with our external legal counsel – prepare clear instructions, manage review requests, consolidate feedback and keep legal matter trackers moving to close-out.
  • Own the contract administration – log, file and track every agreement and request, keep records complete and current, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Keep governance airtight – maintain the contract repository and governance registers (delegation of authority matrix; litigation, lease and SOW registers) so records are accurate, accessible and audit-ready.
  • Get agreements signed properly – coordinate signatures with authorised signatories and finalise documentation with complete audit trails.
  • Stay ahead of key dates – track obligations, renewals and notice periods, perform the controls required under our contract management policy, and keep stakeholders updated on contract status.
  • Improve how we contract – help maintain templates and supporting documents and recommend updates to contract policies and processes for approval.
  • Support audits – prepare documentation and evidence for internal and external audits.
  • Upskill the business – design and deliver contract management training for procurement, finance and operational teams to reduce contracting errors.

What you’ll bring

  • A relevant legal qualification; an LLB is strongly advantageous, and admission as an attorney is a plus.
  • 4–6 years’ progressive experience in a legal environment (contract management, commercial legal or a related legal and compliance role), in-house or in private practice.
  • Strong commercial contract review skills, a solid grasp of contract law and a sharp eye for detail in contract wording.
  • Sound judgement on legal risk – knowing when a matter needs escalating and briefing it clearly.
  • Experience instructing and working with external legal counsel.
  • Comfort working with agreements governed by the laws of different jurisdictions and with counterparties across multiple countries.
  • Exceptional administrative and organisational skills – meticulous record-keeping, strong attention to detail and comfort with a high volume of administrative work.
  • Hands-on experience with contract management systems, document repositories and governance registers, including key-date and renewal tracking.
  • Experience applying regulatory and compliance requirements to contractual obligations; gaming, licensing or other regulated-industry exposure is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent written communication.
  • Confidence working across functions, managing stakeholders and presenting guidance in plain, practical terms.
  • Strong time management and the ability to juggle multiple agreements against business deadlines.

What success looks like

Contracts are accurate, compliant and executed within agreed timeframes. Queries are answered or escalated quickly with a clear brief, instructions to our external legal counsel are clear and quick to action, renewals and policy controls never slip, records and registers are always complete and audit-ready, and the business contracts faster and with fewer errors thanks to the templates and training you support.
