Control/Algorithm Engineer

Job Description

We are a local Medtech company seeking highly motivated Algorithm/ Control Engineers to join our surgical robotics project team and help developnext-generation robotic systems for minimally invasive surgery. You will workclosely with robotics, electrical, software, mechanical engineers, and clinicalexperts to design and implement advanced control algorithms that enableprecise, safe, and intelligent robotic motion in the operating room.

This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about usingthe latest robotics technology in medical field to improve human lives andclinical outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Robotics, ControlEngineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong background in robotics and control theory
  • Experience with: Robot kinematics and dynamics; PID, model-based, adaptive, or optimal control; Motion planning and trajectory generation; Computervision; Real-time control systems
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Python
  • Experience with ROS/ROS2, MATLAB/Simulink, orrobotic simulation tools
  • Familiarity with sensors, actuators, encoders,and robotic hardware integration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinaryteams
  • Regulartravel may be required to conduct animal trials, clinical support andcollaboration with oversea teams
  • Freshgraduates with Master/PhD degree are welcomed to apply

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate control algorithmsfor surgical robotic systems
  • Develop motion control, trajectory planning,kinematics, and dynamic modelling solutions
  • Implement robot control software for real-timeembedded or Linux-based systems
  • Improve robot accuracy, stability,responsiveness, and safety performance
  • Develop algorithms for force control,impedance/admittance control, and sensor fusion
  • Integrate robotic control systems with imaging,navigation, and perception modules
  • Conduct simulation, testing, calibration, andperformance evaluation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineeringand clinical teams during system integration and verification
  • Support regulatory documentation, risk analysis,and verification activities for medical devices
  • Participate in prototype development, labtesting, and clinical evaluation support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in surgical robotics, medicaldevices, or safety-critical systems
  • Knowledge of force/torque sensing and hapticsystems
  • Experience with computer vision or image-guidedrobotics
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and real-timeoperating systems
  • Understanding of medical device developmentstandards and regulatory processes
  • Experience with machine learning or AI forrobotic control
