Control Room Operator
Location: Coos County Jail
Reports To: Shift Sergeant or Watch Commander
Summary:
Responsible for monitoring and controlling inmate, staff, and visitor movement within the corrections facility. Operates security systems and provides administrative and technical support to corrections staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate control systems for cameras, monitors, electronic doors, elevators, and communication equipment.
- Monitor facility for safety and security using electronic visual devices.
- Screen and route visitors; process inmate correspondence.
- Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documentation.
- Perform general office tasks including typing, filing, and data entry.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Typing and computer skills preferred.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and follow complex directives.
- Must obtain and maintain CJIS certification.
