JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an on-site role for an Automation Engineer based in Singapore. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for Testing and Commissioning ABB 800xASystem for a FPSO Project. The work site is the shipyard where the vessel is berthed.
RESPONSIBILTIES
· On-site system installation, testing, commissioning, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and handover to clients of ABB 800xAControl Systems including Controller, IO modules, Communication modules e.g. Modbus, Ethernet, Profinet, IEC61850, Engineering tool and SCADA for FPSO application.
· Develop and review control system logic to meet process requirements and ensure operational effectiveness
· Prepare detailed engineering documentation to support system design, testing, and commissioning
· Lead hardware engineering tasks including configuration, testing, and integration of control system components
· Perform software programming, installation, and testing of SCADA and automation systems to ensure functionality
· Integrate third-party control and electrical systems using Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, IEC61850 protocols for seamless communication
· Diagnose and troubleshoot control, electrical, and instrumentation system issues on-site to maintain system reliability
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients during technical reviews and project execution to ensure compliance with standards
SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
· ABB 800xA control system
· 800xA Engineering tool & SCADA
· 800xA Historian
· Modbus TCP/IP
· Profinet
· OPC
· IEC61850
QUALIFICATIONS
· 3+ years of strong expertise in Engineering, Testing and On-Site Commissioning of 800xA system.
· Hand-on experience on 800xA SCADA, Modbus, Ethernet, Profinet and IEC61850 communication module
· Preferable to have FPSO experience, not mandatory.
· Good understanding of Control system and Electrical Integration.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
· Strong written/verbal English language skills are required.
· Strong customer handling skills.
JOB REQUIREMENT
· 6 months to 1year contract role which is expected to further extended based onthe performance and the project status
· Normal Working hours - 10 hours/daily
· Normal Working days - Monday to Saturday
· Overtime shall be applicable for extended working hours or working on holidays.
· Transportation to the shipyard shall be provided from particular pickup point.
· Normal Annual and Medical leave shall be applicable.
