Conveyor Line Operator

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Conveyor Line Operator to join the Lighting & Controls division in Kenosha, WI. Conveyor Line Operator is responsible for accurately hanging parts on a conveyor line while maintaining productivity and quality standards. This position requires the ability to read and interpret move tickets, component drawings, and job travelers to identify part numbers and paint color codes. The Conveyor Line Operator follows the live production schedule and proactively pre-hangs parts.

What Will You Do?

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Load and Unloading Components on the conveyor line per the live schedule start date
• Remove sort pem stud covers
• Pre-hang small components on racks per the live schedule start date
• Remove puddled water from components before entry into dry-off oven
• Masking and Unmasking Components
• Work in the stainless steel passivation cell
• Manual touch-up of metal components i.e. paint hook marks, hinge knuckles
• Clean out washer periodically through the day for parts fallen in washer
• Maintain good housekeeping conditions in work area
• Follow ISO procedures
• Assist other departments during slow paint production periods
• Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow safety rules, safe operating procedures and practices; help ensure all employees follow safety rules, procedures and practices
• Active participation in ongoing individual training/development programs
• Set goals and objectives with Manager; look for ways to improve quality and productivity
• Collect and organize hooks for weekly cleanings

• High level of self-initiative and dependability
• Must be willing to pitch in as needed; flexible to perform overtime duties and adjust schedule when required and work within a team environment.
• Highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy
• Good written and verbal English communication skills to read and interpret work instructions, general direction and other related tasks
• Must possess positive, "can do" attitude
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
