Cook & Barista

Bethany Athletic Club, a premier athletic club in Portland’s west side seeks two part-time Cooks to join the Dining team! The successful candidates will ensure our Bistro prepares and delivers superb dishes to our guests.

Schedule: Weekday AM 8-2PM OR Weekday PM 2-6PM & Rotating Saturdays 8-2PM (part-time shifts only)

Pay: $18.50-$19

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepares a variety of ethnic breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes and recipes.
• Cleans work area and equipment per department procedures after each use.
• Guides completion of daily prep lists and job assignments.
• Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
• Displays excellent communication and remains calm and courteous under pressure.
• Completes all daily temperature logs.
• Assists in washing dishes as needed.
• Uses correct cooking skills and properly operates broiler, grill, sauté and oven.
• Labels, dates and covers all food items for proper storage.
• Keeps all kitchen items stocked.
• Serves as a customer service contact for members at the bistro, including: answering questions, welcoming and other member communications.

Qualifications:

• 2 + year experience in food and beverage and/or health club or hospitality industry preferred
• Food Handlers Card required by 1st shift. Cost is $10.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (provided and paid for by us) must be obtained within 60 days of hire
• Ability to work weekends as necessary
• Must be 18 years of age
