Coordinator, Human Resources
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Coordinator to work for a dynamic media company, KUTV-TV!
The HR Coordinator will help grow our team and be responsible for direct support and guidance in various functional areas of human resources, supporting the KUTV station employees. The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of experience in human resources working in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude, effective communication, follow-through, and attention to detail are must-have attributes for this position. The HR Coordinator supports processes associated with the employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding/exiting, benefits administration, training and development, and performance management.
While no day will be the same, you’ll be involved in a variety of HR functions including but not limited to:
Collaborate in a team-based environment, providing excellent, friendly, and responsive HR customer service to employees and managers.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our people, work, and culture.
Ensure compliance with employment regulations, including, but not limited to, FMLA, FLSA, Worker’s Compensation, ADA, and EEO.
Interpret and apply policies and procedures.
Function as a liaison between managers and Regional HR Manager on employee relations matters, including disciplinary matters, complaints, and investigations.
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding exiting processes, including presenting and gathering information.
Support the recruitment process, i.e., post jobs in recruiting system, prepare offer letters, initiate background screening, etc. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations in all aspects of recruitment and hiring.
Coordinate pre-employment processes, handle timely and professional communications with candidates, maintain tracking records, and follow through on all pre-employment requirements.
Support the benefits administration process by maintaining working knowledge of company benefit plans, assist in the annual Open Enrollment process including employee education and communication, and participate in audits as needed.
Support the performance management process and review process including compliance tracking and audits.
Administer leave of absence cases according to company policy, benefits and state and local laws.
Respond to unemployment claims, workers compensation claims, and employment verifications.
Maintain electronic HR records, including personnel records.
Assist in planning and coordinating team trainings, morale events, and activities.
Perform other related duties and projects as required and assigned.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
This position is an onsite role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related program of study
- Minimum of two years of HR experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal, communication and multi-tasking skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to exhibit a high degree of confidentiality and proper judgement under pressure and in sensitive situations.
- A positive attitude and high level of commitment to execution of job duties.
- Organizational and time management skills with expert attention to detail.
- Oracle HRIS experience a plus.
