Purpose Statement
The role will have a specific focus on coordinating and improving last-mile distribution and courier operations across business-to-business and business-to-client delivery channels. The role is responsible for supporting reliable, cost-effective and customer-focused delivery execution through courier partner coordination, service-level monitoring, track-and-trace visibility, exception management, reporting and continuous improvement.
Experience
MINIMUM:
- At least 5 years’ experience of coordination for delivery and/or achievement of business objectives within a relevant or related environment to the function, project or environment; including experience in monitoring, supporting planning, forecasting, reporting, budgeting and prioritisation.
- Comfortable in liaising with senior-level stakeholders and / or external parties such as legal and regulatory entities, vendors, partners.
- Experience of using influence and negotiation to corral resources and stakeholders to drive objectives and delivery.
- Proven experience of prioritising, working to deadlines, multi-tasking and applying time management skills to ensure delivery.
- Designing and producing quality reports, presentations and material.
- Experience in courier, transport and last-mile distribution operations, including B2B/B2C deliveries, collections, reverse logistics and coordination of courier service providers.
- Experience managing end-to-end courier performance, including track-and-trace, proof of delivery, SLA monitoring, delivery exceptions, operational reporting and corrective actions.
IDEAL
- Experience managing national courier and last-mile distribution operations, including different service types and products, regional delivery requirements and coordination across branches, distribution hubs, service providers and end clients.
- Experience in the commercial and technical aspects of courier operations, including rate structures, fuel levies, volumetric weight, claims, cost reconciliation, track-and-trace and courier-system integrations.
Qualifications (Minimum)
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or Engineering - General
Knowledge
MINIMUM/DEAL:
- Strong knowledge of relevant functional / technical area and related task management tools, techniques, processes and systems.
- Understanding of business operations, including but not limited to budgeting, project management and planning principles, forecasting and scheduling.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Foundational information and data analysis knowledge.
- Stakeholder engagement and management processes and practices.
IDEAL:
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end courier and last-mile distribution operations, including service levels, reverse logistics, exception management and risk controls.
- Good understanding of courier commercial and operational drivers, including pricing structures, track-and-trace systems, proof of delivery and regional service coverage.
