The Coordinator of Student Conduct and Student Conduct Investigator serves as a member of the Office of Student Conduct. The incumbent serves as an administrator for all alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct, Honor Code, and other University policies and procedures involving students. The Coordinator supports the administration of the Student Conduct process, serving as an investigator for all alleged violations Student Code of Conduct; Honor Code; Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating and Domestic Violence, and Stalking; and other University policies and procedures involving students or student organizations.

Primary Responsibilities/Functions:

• Supports the administration of the Student Conduct process, serving as an administrator for all alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct; Honor Code; Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating and Domestic Violence, and Stalking; and other University policies and procedures involving students or student organizations.
• Analyzes and evaluates alleged misconduct to make recommendations on the appropriate investigation, adjudication, or closing procedures.
• Serves as a University Hearing Officer for any alleged violations of University policy, evaluating complex information in order to render a decision utilizing the incumbent's training, professional judgment, University policy, and federal and/or state law.
• Investigates alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct; Honor Code; Policy on Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating and Domestic Violence, and Stalking; and other University policies and procedures involving students or student organizations, utilizing learned methods and techniques to draw informed conclusions, while applying the appropriate evidentiary standard.
• Coordinates investigations with appropriate University and community agencies.
• Prepares written report of investigation findings, which include all pertinent facts, information, and evidence.
• Serves as the liaison to the Department of Housing & Residence Life's Residence Education program, providing guidance and support to department staff serving as Hearing Officers.
• Assists in maintaining conduct records and database software and in the facilitation of educational programming related to the Student Code of Conduct, Honor Code, and other University policies and procedures for students, faculty, and staff.
• Helps maintain conduct records and database software and the facilitation of educational programming related to the Student Code of Conduct, Honor Code, and other University policies and procedures for students, faculty, and staff.
• Provides training for faculty, staff, and students on verbal deescalation, crisis prevention, and crisis response.
• Responds to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, parents, and members of the community, as well as assist with managing community members of concern.
• Serves as a member of the Sexual Misconduct Response Team (SRT) and as an alternate and ad hoc member for the Office of Student Conduct on the Case Assessment, Review, and Evaluation (CARE) Teams for Students of Concern (SOC), Behavioral Intervention (BIT), and Threat Assessment (TAT).
• Serve as the on-call Dean of Students' staff member on a rotating basis and on Department, Division, and University program initiatives and committees.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess and negotiate complex, highly sensitive situations
• Exceptional critical thinking skills demonstrated by the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and facilitate resolution of difficult challenges, including the ability to handle complex issues of extreme sensitivity
• Skill in writing concise, logical, analytical reports to convey complex issues.
• Ability to maintain neutrality and work under stress

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Significant experience conducting investigations alleging discrimination based on sex, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, and sexual violence.
• Demonstrate experience working with individuals who may be in distress and/or handling difficult interactions.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. One (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience and/or Graduate Internship/Practicum experience in a college or university conduct process; administrative, civil rights, or law investigations, or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Three (3) or more years of relevant experience in a college or university conduct process; administrative, civil rights, or law investigations; or other related field.
