Copley House Residential Support Staff

Residential Support Staff working at Copley House will support clients who have long-term psychiatric disabilities to build skills to engage in activities of daily living, access services and care, and establish lives worth living. Work will include helping clients manage symptoms and behaviors in the milieu and supporting clients to engage constructively with each other and staff. Residential support staff will monitor spaces and functions of the building to ensure safety and prevent damage. They may transport clients in the course of supporting progress toward treatment goals.

As a member of the residential staff, the incumbent works to establish and maintain a respectful and dignified atmosphere for psychiatrically-disabled residents. Work includes both housekeeping duties and providing safety and support to residents. Residential staff will build relationships with residents and use clinical skills to engage clients in activities and self-regulation as appropriate and will communicate clinically relevant observations to supervisors and treatment team members. Residential staff will comply with regulations for documenting services and clinical information, including incident reports, in a timely fashion. Residential staff will engage in ongoing training to develop clinical skills.
