In this role you will join a fast-paced fintech startup to help build an enterprise-grade Java platform. You will work closely with the CTO, own critical code and contribute to architecture, while staying hands-on. You will shape technology choices and prototype new approaches to drive the product forward.

Responsibilities
  • own and evolve core Java code and architecture
  • work hands-on in an agile, scrum-driven process
  • perform refactoring as requirements evolve while maintaining a strong unit test suite
  • evangelise and prototype new technologies to influence the architecture
  • lead small development efforts and collaborate cross-functionally
  • contribute to the CI/test-driven development culture
  • leverage open-source and vendor offerings to meet performance needs
Key requirements
  • 4 years of commercial software development experience
  • server-side multi-threaded core Java expertise
  • JMS and asynchronous messaging architectures
  • strong core Java foundation (not siloed)
  • Spring Core, Spring Integration, Spring Batch experience
  • JUnit and TestNG experience
  • SQL and Oracle knowledge
  • experience leading small development teams
  • Relational Databases experience
  • ideally Maven experience
  • leadership
  • ability to evangelise new technologies
  • strong problem-solving mindset
  • Core Java (multi-threaded)
  • JMS and asynchronous MOM architectures
