About the Role

Permanent Capital Ventures is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Corporate Commercial/Litigation Lawyer with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in corporate and commercial advisory, regulatory compliance, litigation, dispute resolution, and client management.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and governance matters.
• Handle company incorporations, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and transaction documents.
• Provide legal support on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and corporate secretarial matters.
• Conduct legal due diligence and prepare legal opinions and advisory memoranda.
• Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, witness statements, and other court processes.
• Develop litigation strategies and manage cases through resolution.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support business development, networking, and client engagement initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, interns, and support staff where required.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on developments in corporate, commercial, and litigation practice.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in corporate commercial law or litigation.
• Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association with a valid practising licence.
• Demonstrable experience in corporate transactions, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, legal drafting, and research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and project management skills.
• Strong client management and relationship-building skills.
• High ethical standards, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
