Corporate Communications Manager
Job Overview:
The Corporate Communications Manager supports Fortrea’s business units by developing clear, engaging communications that connect employees to business priorities, operational updates, leadership messages, and key initiatives. This role partners closely with business unit leaders and Corporate Communications colleagues to plan, write, edit, and distribute communications across internal channels. Success requires strong writing, sound judgment, stakeholder management, attention to detail, and the ability to translate business needs into audience-focused communication plans and content.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute communication plans that support business unit priorities, employee engagement, operational updates, and leadership visibility.
- Partner with business unit leaders and subject matter experts to understand communication needs, recommend approaches, and deliver accurate, timely content.
- Write, edit, and coordinate employee announcements, leader messages, talking points, newsletter content, intranet articles, presentations, video scripts and Q&A materials.
- Translate complex business, operational, and functional information into clear, concise, audience-focused communications.
- Coordinate reviews, approvals, distribution timing, and channel execution with Corporate Communications, HR, Legal, and business stakeholders.
- Maintain business unit communication calendars, editorial plans, distribution lists, and message tracking to ensure coordination and visibility.
- Support communication measurement by gathering feedback, reviewing engagement data, and recommending improvements to content and channels.
- Apply Fortrea’s voice, tone, brand standards, and editorial guidelines across business unit communications.
- Handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion and escalate issues appropriately.
- Perform all other duties as needed or assigned. This role may require up to 10% domestic or international travel.
Qualifications (Minimum Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing, business, or a related field.
- Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience and successful project outcomes in lieu of educational requirements.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, message development, and content planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, approvals, and stakeholder inputs with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships with business partners and communication colleagues.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 tools, intranet or employee communication platforms, and basic communication analytics.
- Familiarity with AI tools and the ability to use them effectively to enhance productivity and development of communication materials, while exercising sound judgement, ensuring accuracy and adhering to organizational standards.
- English fluency required; additional language proficiency is beneficial for global stakeholder engagement.
Experience (Minimum Required):
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, employee communications, public relations, marketing communications, or related communication roles.
- Experience partnering with business leaders or functional teams to develop communication plans and employee-facing content.
- Experience managing multiple communication projects, deadlines, and review processes at the same time.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Experience in health care, life sciences, clinical research, pharmaceutical services, or a regulated global business environment.
- Experience supporting business unit communications, change communications, employee engagement programs, or leadership visibility initiatives.
- Experience with intranet publishing, newsletter production, town hall support, presentation development, video production or content measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex topics and produce polished communications for global employee audiences.

- Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel both domestic and international.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
- Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying, or moving of objects, including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Varied hours may be required.
Pay Range: $90,000-$125,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)
